STAFF

Principal: Mrs. Alyson Crews

Alyson Crews is serving her third year as principal of TCA. She holds a Master's Degree from the University of Miami and served on staff as Associate Director of Campus Ministries at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She has been married for almost 20 years and has four beautiful children, all of whom have been (or are currently) students at TCA. She enjoys time with her family, cooking, and singing. 

Secretary and Bookkeeper: Mrs. Kelly Young

Kelly joined the staff of TCA in 2012 first as a 3rd/4th grade aide and then as the secretary and bookkeeper. Kelly has many years of experience working in accounting offices and is delighted to be on the TCA team. She graduated from ODU in Decision Science (BS).

PreK: Mrs. Amanda Beltran

Amanda joined the TCA staff in 2016 as the PreK teacher. Before joining TCA, she homeschooled her two boys. She is a military spouse and has been married for 9 years.  

Kindergarten: Mr. Jared Martin

Jared joined the TCA staff last year as the Kindergarten teacher. He was born and raised in Modesta, CA. He received a Bachelor of Communication degree from Liberty University. He has two children that attend TCA. He is a member of Green Run Baptist Church and serves on the worship team.

1st Grade: Mrs. Cindy Santmyer

Cindy received her certification in primary education in France in 2005. She worked as a teacher for 12 years there before moving to Virginia Beach, her husband's hometown. This is her first year teaching at TCA.

2nd Grade: Mrs. Susan Applegate

Susan has been teaching at TCA since 2011. She has taught PreK and Kindergarten and is currently teaching 2nd grade. She has 3 sons and 7 grandchildren. She loves music and plays piano for Green Run Baptist Church. 

3rd Grade & 4th Grade: Mrs. Angela Sison

Angela joined the TCA staff this year as the 3rd/4th grade teacher. She graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Audiology in 2003. Angela and her husband both served in the US Navy and have one daughter. 

5th and 6th Grade Teacher: Mrs. Teva Beasley 

Teva joined the TCA staff in 2016 teaching 2nd grade. She now teaches our 5th/6th grade while increasing her knowledge of classical education. She carries  a passion for ministry that stems from four years as a missionary with YWAM Australia. Teva brings administrative and teaching abilities from her past as the Children's Ministry Directory for Big House Church. Teva is married with three daughters and is a visual artist in her spare time.   

4th - 8th Grade Latin & 7th/8th Logic: Mrs. Alexandra Lopez 

Alexandra graduated in 1996 from Law School Frankfurt University with a major in Criminal Law and a minor in Forensic Medicine. She joined TCA’s staff in April 2009, working as our Latin and Logic instructor. She grew up in Germany, where she experienced a Classical Christian education from K- 13th Grade. Alexandra has homeschooled her two children since 2005.

7th/8th Grade Omnibus & Writing: Mrs. Deborah Cunningham 

Debbie joined the TCA staff in 2011. Two of her three children were homeschooled and she wishes TCA was in existence back then. She has a Business degree from Miami University and is a continual student of classical education. 

7th/8th Grade Science: Mr. Adam Dragoon 

TCA Aide: Mrs. Nancy Jones

Nancy’s involvement with TCA began with her daughter’s enrollment in 2008. Nancy served as a volunteer before joining our staff in September 2011.

3rd & 4th Grade Aide: Mr. Mark Hall

Before joining the TCA staff this year, Mark worked as a permanent substitute teacher at Larkspur Middle School. Mark also serves as Children’s Ministry Coordination for Green Run Baptist Church. He is currently completing a seminary degree at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Kindergarten Aide: Mrs. Susie Freeman

Susie has teaching degrees in General Science and Library Media from Concord College in Athens, WV. She has three children who attend TCA. Before accepting the aide position, she volunteered as our librarian.
